Bouyant from the deserved victory the previous week Valley attacked from the off.
After a failed Valley attack the defence were slow to clear and JC dispossessed the left back and raced into the area. Drawing the keeper and the chasing defender he slipped it back to Kev to bang in his first goal of the season on his return to the team.
Valley were on top at the moment and shortly after JC went flying down the wing past the left back ant into the 'D'. The covering defender hung back a bit to prevent the repeat of the first goal. Eyeing a gap between defender and Goalkeeper, JC slipped the ball to the far post where Thomas was loitering and from point blank range netted his first goal for Valley. Quite a feat as he had yet to open his account for the juniors
Bacon Snr, turned back the years as he rushed forward to congratulate his son, before wheezing back into defence for the restart, wondering what bonus he would have to cough up for this landmark score.
Shortly after Addiscombe forced their way back into the game and scored a scrappy goal to bring the first half to a close with Valley up 2-1.
The second half had barely started when Addiscombe equalised following a short corner breakdown. Valley seemed to have lost their way and as Addiscombe gained in confidence the game became more end-to-end with some frantic defending from both sides.
Valley had a few chances which they failed to convert due to poor final ball from JC, or a misfire from Kev.
With the amount of practise they had had, it was only a matter of time before a third goal came. Good work from JC found Kev at the P spot and after a good first touch, he drilled the ball past the keeper.
A goal to the good and time running out, Valley became a little sloppy with the forwards not coming short enough to help the backs clear the lines and just before the end this proved costly. After clearing the lines Addiscombe pressed forward, outnumbering the Valley defence and squeezed the ball into the net to tie the match.
Neither side could get the winning goal and the draw was a fair result, although Valley were disappointed not to have held on for the victory.
