Battle at the bottom
Former player Gemma Maclean would hardly have recognised any of the team she came to watch. Due to illness, holiday, work commitments etc. there were several newcomers to the team. We were hopeful of a positive result however as we were playing the only team with a worse record than us - Barnes, Hounslow and Ealing. The game started positively and Valley enjoyed lots of possession but once again could not capitalise.
After the break Barnes seized upon a mix up in defence to go ahead with a scrappy goal. Valley soon hit back through a Tarryn Rostenne penalty corner strike. Despite lots more pressure it was Barnes who stole the points with another messy goal.
Very disappointing once again but a thoroughly pleasant game.
