The toll of the wedding bells

This opening match of the season was always going to be a tough one against promotion hopefuls Wanderers and so it proved. The team battled hard throughout however and this attitude will have to be taken into the rest of the season against all opposition for us to have a happy year.

The first half finished with the deficit at 3 - 0 and this represented a determined defensive effort as attacks came in from all angles and the talk and organisation was pretty solid. Unfortunately the second period saw Valley's physical and mental fitness exposed as a further 6 goals were conceded. Special mention must go to General Gordon (Gihan) in goal who saw off many attacks from the marauding Dervish with a string of fine reaction saves.

From now on the team must keep pulling together with the aim to improve our stamina and teamplay with every week. If this attitude is taken then we will take something from the year.
