Disappointing
After Merton pulled out of the half term friendly the search was on for another opposition that was up to the challenge. Fortunately for Gemma 'Deserta' McClean, Oxford Hawks got in just before Teddington or else she would have been on the end of a severe thrashing - Thames Valley style.
The game started well enough for Valley with some good possession and they took an early lead through a Nicky Collins short corner strike.
It was downhill from there however and Valley were unable to capitalize on their advantage. Despite being the better team for long periods of time it was Oxford who made the better chances and managed to score from 3 of them.
Valley had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and were glad that they didn't have to do the 50 mile drive home.
