31st October [Message from Bails on behalf of Exec Committee]

Dear all,

As agreed at our last EGM, TVHC will be holding a further EGM on Saturday 26th November, at 7.30pm. The meeting will be held at the present clubhouse on Vicarage Rd in Egham.

The purpose of this meeting will be for (paid up) club members to discuss and then vote on a potential move of the club house to be based at Chertsey Cricket Club for the 2006 / 2007 season onwards (effective from 1st May 2006).

Given the impact of this vote, voting before hand by post or email is an option. Votes should be sent to the Secretary (contact details below), and should specifically state
"I want the clubhouse to move to Chertsey CC",
or
"I want the clubhouse to remain at Egham CC", with no other variations or qualifying statements. Any email votes must be received by 4pm on Friday 25th November.
31st October [Message from Vics on behalf of Exec Committee]

Dear all,

For those members who were at the last EGM you will be aware that TVHC is considering moving its club house to Chertsey CC starting April 2006. The 'find a new home' committee have been working on behalf of the members since April in an attempt to research our options as a club. We have been in contact with Chertsey CC for a while now. It was proposed at the last EGM that an 'open' evening at Chertsey CC would be beneficial to enable our members see the club house/bar /facilities etc before voting for or against the move.

The open evening will be Thursday 10th November at 8.00pm.
Please note therefore that there will not be a social evening at Egham CC on this evening.

The intention for this evening is therefore not to discuss as a club the 'logistics' and details of the proposal ,but to see the club ,meet some of the members of Chertsey CC and for a representative from each club to tell the attendees a bit about each other and to have a drink. We will then discuss the proposal as a club and vote at the EGM planned in November. Many thanks and I look forward to seeing a good representation of Thames Valley there on 10th.

Please find below the address and a link to a map. There is plenty of parking at the club house.

26th September Further to Bails original e-mail of 7th of September 2005, please find below a revised agenda for our EGM meeting on Thursday 29th September, commencing at 8.30pm, at the clubhouse on Vicarage Rd. The amended agenda follows the first meeting of the new Exec Committee held last Thursday (22nd Sept). Linda Beere has kindly notified some of the Vice Presidents not on email.
  1. Election of Outstanding Committee Positions (following a briefing statement by the Secretary).
    • Chairman - Garfield O'Dea is the current nomination, other nominations may also be submitted.
    • Bar Chair - no current nominations. This position is a key position for the future of the club.
    • Mens 1st Team Captain - no current nominations for full role yet, but individuals have signed up for certain tasks.
    • Mens Fixtures Secretary - no current nominations
    • Mixed Fixtures Secretary - no current nominations
  2. Current Status for a Club House
    • The Secretary will provide a brief update on the Exec Committee's decision to renew our agreement with Egham CC for this winter season.
    • Vics O'Dea will provide a summary of the current agreement being discussed with Chertsey Cricket Club.
    • The Secretary will propose the next steps to reach a final decision.
  3. Updates on other matters
    • Subs for 2006 - update from Treasurer
    • Training for 2006 - update from Club Captain
  4. Any other Business

Please don't lose this opportunity to play an important part in the future of your club!

Those considering coming forward for open positions, the recently circulated 'TVHC Roles & Responsibilities' document will provide some info on what the role contains.

On a personal note I feel we have very committed and capable individuals on the Playing and Executive Committees, and a solid framework of roles and process to work within. If you are considering one of the vacant positions please come forward and join us - the more commitment we have then the easier it will be to run the club. Something we can all do personally is to try to recruit new players - this will be key over the coming season.

12th September To all TVHC members and past players,

Linda and I have decided to hold a pre-season BBQ at our place on Sunday 25th Sept.
Happily it can now be designated the "2005 Ashes Celebration BBQ".
(I hope my fingernails will have grown back by the 25th!)

The plan is to start about about 1 p.m. and continue through the evening until the last stragglers leave (or pass out). Food service will be continuous (but probably spasmodic!). All are welcome - including kids, of course.

This is potentially quite a large gathering so we would appreciate the odd e-mail to let us know if you intend to come. (But if you can't let us know beforehand, don't let that stop you coming).

Any offers of assistance will be gratefully accepted!.

Hope to see you on the 25th.

Cheers, Gerry.

p.s. We know it's a bit late in the year, but we can cope with moderately bad weather, and we also have access to a large marquee, if the forecast is dire!

p.p.s. For those who don't know, the address is:- 337 Sroude Road, Virginia Water (1.5 miles from the clubhouse - half a mile west of Great Fosters).

8th September

The Club Secretary (Bails) has requested that the captains gather player information for their teams so that we can update the club membership database. Please respond promptly when asked for the information.
